1) Scan the mainboard and make sure that there is nothing that might short something out, like metal chipping, components, that moved out of place while reflowing, etc. - Especially in the CPU area | |

Comments for this Error code:
Got a Xbox 360 (falcon mobo) with E74 error, which already has been reflowed a
couple of times. So I suggested customer a reball.
Reballed GPU, after that got a 3RROD with 0003 , fan not working and the short
buzzing sound.
Soldered back on a new preballed GPU and everything was working again :-)
in xbox slim have nand of other console, example xbox slim trinity with nand of
jasper
Can some 1 tell me what is that black square box with 4 pin next to infrared
beside enject button
ok guys, fist i press on button then it goes off,the i reflow GPU and cpu it the
same.
i ready most of the comment and cut off Q6F1 s pin of the mosfet and it able to
powerup by showing error code 0031.
I reflow CPU and GPU, nothing happen, i reflow HANA chip and solder back the Q6F
s pin and it able to powerup by showing error code, not like before it wont show
anycode just back off again.
I reflow GPU and now i get 0003 and there a buzz sound near the CPU or some ware
around.
What WTF did i do wrong. Pls help me out here.
This is definitely the GPU. I took I started hammering a nail into the gpu until
pretty blue glass started going everywhere. It'd still try to boot
however, the center of the GPU would literally start to glow amber...
After I did the top part of the GPU (the little square) I got 0003.
Got this (0002) and secondary 0003 on an old school Elite box that had been
previously brought back from an e74/1022 with a uni-clamp. This appeared after
CPU and GPU reflows.
The guy who reflowed it had cranked the hardware down pretty tight. I backed off
the screws a quarter turn at a time and tested it. My 0003 with a buzz, went to
just an 0003 then to 0002, then finally worked.
Tightened up individual screws a quarter turn and found that the two CPU screws
closer to the memory ports were the culprits. Too much and it threw 0002.
Tested streaming video for two hours after, worked great. Rebooted next day
again with no issues.
if you get a buzz from one of the coils with error code 0003 it is a defo dead
gpu, just had a console with those symptoms, replaced the gpu and it's
good as gold
For me, I had done some accidental 15574/14719 dashboard mixing on a falcon
JTAG. Went back to a clean 15574 with proper cpukey, and all was well again.
0003 isn't a CPU problem. It's related to the GPU's connection
to the motherboard. GPU' is usually damaged and needs a replacement.
Had one like this removed the gpu and now i no longer have a power problem so it
might need a gpu replacement.
I had a working unit and after cleaning it and decided to do the heatsink mod.
Upon power up I got the OOO3 error, loosened up the GPU heat sink and the unit
began working. So its not always the CPU. It would be nice to know how
much torque to put on the heatsink mod screws.
Reballed GPU fixed my 0003 error. But clearly if that does not work then A) Its
a broken GPU B) Its a broken MOSFET, or some power regulator to GPU (such as
u8n1). PS. Some people need to learn how-to write English correctly ;)
Here you can enterso is this error a gpu issue then and not a cpu error?? also
by popcorned does this mean when there is like air bubbles on the gpu?? your
comment...

This is weird I have 234 light up instead of 134. error code 0003 Im not sure
what its calle but it is a black cylinder with a copper coil wrapped around it.
It is the closest one to where the fan goes. as soon as i hit the power button a
buzz comes from that and i get a light pattern like this .:
0003 means gpu burnt or popcorned...nothing to do! If you want to be sure, just
desolder the GPU, clean it, and verify the resistance: should be 0.5 ohm (like
0) if it is burnt, or around 2 ohm if it is good.
If it is burnt the only think you can do is buy a new reballed gpu or take it
from another board and reball it yourself!
reflowed with no clean flux now ive got 0003 should I reflow the cpu first or
test the mosfets first? any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks in advance
just did the heatgun with insulation fix plus no clean liquid flux for e74 and
now i have 0003. Should i first try reflowing the CPU? or should I test the
MOSFET"S first? Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
i can confirm that 0003 on a falcon is a gpu problem.
same as solidwars e74
while reflowing to fix the e74 one of the balls popped out from under the gpu(i
know...its the first time i ever saw that happen)
I had this same problem after heat gun reflow on E74 error it gave me 3 RROD
secondary code 0003. I tried loosening the CPU heatsink it made no difference
then i tried the GPU heatsink and it started up. It was working but i wasnt
happy with looseness of the heatsink against mobo so decided to try nylon
washers (slightly thicker) with metal ones on top. No idea how long it will last
but working for 3 days proper use so far.
Some of the boards that I've experimented with, 0003 occurred after i
killed the GPU.
